Shipping policy

This page covers how printed photos reach you. The digital photo is not shipped; it is emailed and posted on your order page within a minute of payment.

Mailed prints

Cost. Free. Shipping is included in the price of the digital plus prints option.

Carrier. United States Postal Service.

When we ship. Prints are made at our fulfillment center as soon as you pay, and most orders ship within one business day of payment. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding federal holidays. An order paid on a Friday evening ships the next business day.

Delivery time. Most orders arrive within 2 to 3 business days of shipping. Delivery times are USPS's, not ours, and can be longer in bad weather or around holidays.

What is in the envelope. Your 2, 4 or 6 prints on photo paper, cut to the size of your document, in a rigid mailer so they arrive flat.

Where we ship. Addresses in the United States, including PO boxes, APO, FPO and DPO addresses, Puerto Rico and the US territories served by USPS. We do not ship outside the United States.

Address errors. We ship to the address you enter at checkout. Check it before you pay. If a parcel comes back to us as undeliverable, we email you; we reship once to a corrected address at no charge, and after that the prints are destroyed and only the digital file remains.

Damaged or missing. If prints arrive damaged, or have not arrived within 10 days of shipping, email hello@passportphotos.ai with your order number. We send a new set free, or refund the difference between the prints price and the digital only price if you prefer.

Pickup at a location near you

Cost. No shipping charge from us. The store charges about 50 cents for the print when you collect it.

How it works. At the shipping step, choose "Pick up near you" and pick a store on the map (Walgreens, Duane Reade, CVS, Walmart or Target). The moment you pay, we send the print order to that store and email you the address, the ready time and what to say at the counter.

Timing. Ready in about an hour for orders paid during the store's photo counter hours; an order paid after hours is ready about an hour after the counter opens. The ready time is shown before you pay and again in the ready email.

If the store cannot print it. We move the order to the nearest store that can and email you the new address and ready time. If no store nearby works for you, we refund the difference between the prints price and the digital only price and you keep the digital file.

Collecting for someone else. The order is under the name you gave at checkout. Whoever collects gives that name and the pickup details from the email and pays the print charge at the counter.

Printing it yourself

Every order, prints or not, includes a 4 x 6 sheet with two photos of your document's size. Print it on photo paper at home or at any photo kiosk and cut along the lines.
